I think we all get in to the habit of preparing the same few meals over and over. At least, I know I do and I have a food blog! When I get in to a food rut and I’m searching the internet for new recipes, the last thing I’m looking for is a new way to make chicken interesting. And so…I have compiled a list of 6 main dishes to get you out of your food rut.
#1 Spicy Asian Noodles
For a little asian flare, try these spicy asian noodles. You can make them spicy or mild, either way they are delicious! I love all of the different textures in this dish. From the tender noodles to the crunchy vegetables!
#2 Guatemalan Stew
This is a recipe I learned for our son, who we adopted from Guatemala. Guatemalan stew is a hearty stew with a rich and tangy tomatillo sauce that I serve over white rice. As an added bonus, you will be able to sneak a whole bunch of veggies into your family’s diet and they will never know!
#3 Italian Sausage Casserole
This isn’t an Italian dish, unless Italian sausage counts. This is just a super easy casserole dish that can be whipped up in no time at all. I love Italian sausage casserole so much! I’m ashamed to admit that my husband and I have actually eaten the entire 9×13 dish in one sitting!
#4 Red Lentil Dal
Red lentil dal is a big bowl of comfort food! Not only is it hearty and delicious, it’s also really good for you! Dal is just a soup or stew made from lentils. I serve my dal over rice, which always makes my tummy happy!
#5 Buffalo Chicken Chili
I love all kinds of chili, but I have to say I really like buffalo chicken chili! It has all of the flavors of buffalo wings without the mess!
#6 Sausage, Tomato, and Spinach Frittata
What’s better than breakfast for dinner when you’re in a food rut! Sausage, tomato, and spinach frittata is not only a great way to start the day, but it’s also a great way to end the day!
I hope my list of 6 main dishes to get you out of your food rut will get you out of your food rut!😉
