Fruit toast is super easy and super yummy! Enjoy it for breakfast, as a snack, serve it as an appetizer, or have it for brunch. You can whip this dish up in no time, yet it will taste like a gourmet meal. It is so versatile too. You can change up the toppings to make it unique and special every time you enjoy it.
Start with your favorite bread from the bakery. A ciabatta or sour dough loaf work great. White sandwich bread just won’t do. It can’t stand up to all those tasty toppings. Spread your bread with softened, creamy butter.
Toast under the broiler until golden brown. Be sure to watch it carefully. I’ve been known to have to start over on several occasions 😕
Next, top the toasted bread with a mixture of cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. I also use this mixture as a filling for my cream cheese filled strawberries, which are delicious!
Prepare your favorite fruit. I used blueberries, strawberries, and kiwi. You can use any fruit you like. Raspberries, blackberries, peaches, pears, bananas, mango, pineapple, oranges, apples, grapes…whatever you like will be delicious! For a fabulous brunch, have all different types of fruit available to your guests, and allow them to assemble their own fruit toast.
Top your toast with your favorite prepared fruit.
A little drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of salt and your fruit toast is complete! Who would believe something so simple could be so beautiful and so tasty!
