Who doesn’t love whipped cream? Crazy people, that’s who! You don’t need to buy a container of pre-made whipped cream with all sorts of ingredients you can’t pronounce. You can do this all by yourself at home! It’s so simple. Come on, let’s whip some cream! Literally, you just aerate some heavy cream. No fancy equipment is needed because this can be done so many different ways. You can use a blender, a food processor, a hand mixer, a stand mixer, an immersion blender, a bowl and a whisk, or even a mason jar! Once you have made your own whipped cream, you’ll never buy store bought again!
So here’s the super secret recipe for your very own home-made whipped cream: 1 cup heavy cream and 1 Tbsp powdered sugar. That’s it. Whip (or shake your mason jar) until stiff peaks form. It will happen faster than you think. Be careful not to whip it too much or you will have yourself some butter (although, there’s nothing wrong with that). If you decide to put some muscle into it, make sure your bowl or mason jar have been chilled in the freezer for ten minutes or so before adding the heavy cream.
How simple was that? I knew you could do it! Because home-made whipped cream is best used right away, I piped (and by piping, I mean I put the whipped cream into a sandwich bag, snipped a corner, and squeezed it out into a circular pattern) some dollops onto a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat and froze what I didn’t use.
These are going to be great in my morning cup of coffee!
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
- Whisk cream and sugar together until stiff peaks form
- Chill your bowl 10 minutes in the freezer before adding cream and sugar
