Meet Boo

Meet my super sweet dog, Boo! |artzyfoodie.com|

I posted this to Instagram and the pup got way more likes than my food. By popular demand, this post is all about my super sweet dog, Boo.

Boo is a toy rat terrier. Don’t go calling him a chihuahua because he does not like that! He’s very proud of his rat terrier lineage. He arrived for Christmas in 2009. My husband and I had to make a special trip to the “North Pole” to get him. He was not even 2 pounds at the time. The entire plane ride, he never made a tiny little peep. By the way, he still sits with his cute little paws crossed. He’s so elegant!

We had a hard time coming to a consensus on his name. Every name that was suggested, my husband would shoot down because it gave him some negative association. When my husband suggested Max, my daughter said no because it reminded her of maxi pad. That killed that name for everyone! Because he was born in October, we finally agreed on Boo.

Meet Boo

Boo was the only puppy in the litter. And, to this day, he is not very fond of other dogs. He seems to think he’s a person. He does NOT like the way other dogs like to say hello, if you know what I mean. For example (the whole he thinks he’s a person thing), he would not leave us alone until we let him view the recent solar eclipse. I let him borrow my glasses for a quick peek.

The great thing about Boo is that he NEVER barks. He’s a tiny little dog, about 6 pounds, and one might think he would be yappy. But, nope, not Boo. He rarely ever makes a sound.

Boo likes to lay in the sun. Even when he’s inside, he will move from place to place around the house as the sun moves so that he is always in a sunny spot.

Meet Boo

Talk about loyalty! Every time I leave the house he abandons his sunny spot and sits in a chair by the front window waiting for me to come back. As soon as he sees my car pull up, he hops off the chair and races to the garage door to greet me. His little tail wags so hard, sometimes I think it might fly away!

Meet Boo

This is Boo’s birthday month. He is 8 years old in people years and 56 in dog years. He prefers you use people years.

Meet Boo

Happy Birthday, Boo!

They say dogs and their owners start to look alike. What do you think?
