For the month of November, I’m going to start a series that will hopefully inspire your Thanksgiving menu.
I have recently started making turkey roulade for Thanksgiving. Turkey roulade is a boneless turkey breast that is stuffed with a stuffing and sausage mixture, rolled, and sliced. The stuffing adds great flavor and makes the turkey moist and juicy every time!
You can’t have Thanksgiving without mashed potatoes. These creamy potatoes with garlic infused heavy cream, butter, sour cream, and salt can’t be beat!
You can’t have mashed potatoes without gravy! This gravy made with turkey drippings and turkey stock is like an early Christmas present for your tummy (and your taters)!
Green bean casserole is always on our Thanksgiving menu. This casserole is always a hit. Nobody can resist fresh green beans with bacon, onions, and mushrooms in a homemade cream sauce, topped with crispy onions.
Next, is creamy corn bake. Yum! This side dish is so easy but so delicious! Corn, cream cheese, jalapeños, and bacon topped with cheddar cheese and baked is heavenly!
To keep it manageable, I’ll use store bought stuffing and dinner rolls. You can get some really great products nowadays, so why not take a little help?
I have been making Thanksgiving dinner for about 25 years now, and I have yet to get that can of cranberry sauce on to the table. Every year, I start the dinner dishes and realize that I forgot to put it out. It has become a joke around here. What’s even funnier is that I’m the only one who likes it…and I don’t even like stuff out of a can. This year, I’m going to make fresh cranberries and they WILL make it out to the table. With a little help from Siri, we will all be enjoying homemade cranberries this year!
We’ll have a fresh spinach salad with apples, pecans, and goat cheese tossed in a vinaigrette.
The table is all set. Let’s give thanks and eat!
