- 6 strips bacon
- 2 slices multigrain bread
- 1 tsp butter
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup arugula
- 2 slices heirloom tomato
- 1/2 avocado
- sprinkle salt
In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium high heat 4-5 minutes on each side until done, remove and set aside
In the same skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter
Spread the outside of each piece of bread with 1 tbsp mayonnaise
Put the bread mayonnaise side down and toast until golden brown, about 5 minutes
In a bowl, smash the avocado with a fork and sprinkle with salt
Lay the bread out, toasted side down
Spread 1 tbsp mayonnaise on 1 slice of bread
Top with 3 strips of bacon, 1/2 of the arugula, tomato slices, remaining arugula, and remaining 3 strips of bacon
Spread the avocado on the second slice of bread and top the sandwich
Because multigrain bread adds texture to your sandwich and toasts up nicely on the outside, while retaining a good chew on the inside, it is a great choice of bread for any toasted sandwich.
Using the combination of butter and mayonnaise to toast the outside of the bread makes the perfect crispy crunch for any toasted sandwich.
