Smoky Beer Braised Brisket
- 3 pound brisket
- salt & pepper
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 Tbsp liquid smoke
- 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp onion powder
- 1 can beer
- 6 cloves garlic chopped
- 1 onion sliced
BBQ Sauce
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp molasses
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt

- 31 ounces canned baked beans
Smoky Beer Braised Brisket
Liberally salt and pepper the brisket
Whisk together the beef broth, liquid smoke, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder for the marinade
Add the marinade and the brisket to a large resealable plastic bag, squeeze out excess air, and seal the bag
Refrigerate for 24 hours, turning the bag occasionally so that the brisket is evenly marinated
Preheat the oven to 275 degrees
In a large baking dish, pour in the beer and add the garlic and onion
Remove the brisket from the marinade, discard the marinade, and add the brisket to the baking dish
Cover with aluminum foil and bake 6 hours
Let the brisket rest 15 minutes before slicing
Cut 1 cup of brisket into small pieces
Refrigerate left over brisket in an air tight container for 1 week

In a large saucepan, mix together the brisket, sauce, and beans and simmer uncovered, over medium heat, for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally
