Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground sirloin
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  • Divide 1.5 pounds room temperature ground sirloin into 4 six ounce portions
  • Form each portion into a 1 inch thick patty
  • Season both sides of the patty with salt and pepper
  • Turn the grill on high heat
  • When the grill is hot, cook the patties 5-6 minutes on each side
  • Remove the hamburgers from the grill and allow them to rest 5 minutes before serving
  • Place each hamburger on a bun and top with your favorite toppings

Notes

  • For even hamburgers, press your thumb into the center of each burger as the center tends to expand during cooking
  • Do not smash the hamburgers while grilling, the fat will seep out and the burger will be dry
