- 1.5 pounds ground sirloin
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
Divide 1.5 pounds room temperature ground sirloin into 4 six ounce portions
Form each portion into a 1 inch thick patty
Season both sides of the patty with salt and pepper
Turn the grill on high heat
When the grill is hot, cook the patties 5-6 minutes on each side
Remove the hamburgers from the grill and allow them to rest 5 minutes before serving
Place each hamburger on a bun and top with your favorite toppings
- For even hamburgers, press your thumb into the center of each burger as the center tends to expand during cooking
- Do not smash the hamburgers while grilling, the fat will seep out and the burger will be dry
